The Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation-based debate which involves participants role-playing diplomats of different countries while discussing different agendas of international significance.

The committees which are conventionally simulated are- the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the sub-committees of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) such as the DISEC, SPECPOL and ECOFIN, the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the World Trade Organisation (WTO). Additionally, in the Indian circuit, we observe simulations such as the Lok Sabha and the All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM).

The competition usually spans 3 (three) days and traditionally sees 5-6 committees simulated with the International Press that complements with services of reporting and photography. On average, the age group participating in MUN simulations ranges from 14 (fourteen) years to 24 (twenty-four) years.

MUN Committee

The MUN Committee is a college-level organization that aims to develop the negotiation and diplomacy skills of students and help them understand the facets of Model United Nations, Youth Parliament, Debates and similar activities. The committee carries out various functions and organizes programs to achieve these goals. These programs include workshops, seminars, and conferences that provide students with opportunities to learn about international relations, diplomacy, and public speaking.

Through these activities, students can develop their leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills, which are essential for success in today’s globalized world.
