1. Nanocomposites and Bio-composites
Biomaterial coated Banana fibres exhibited tensile strength five times the bare fiber. This project
was carried out as part of industrial collaboration between KLE Technological university and
Cognavative, pune.

2. Membrane Technology
Bio-thin film membranes developed exhibited increased shelf life of vegetables when wrapped with the
membranes. This project was carried out as part of institute collaboration between KLE Technological
university and University of Agricultural Science, Dharwad.

Thin film coatings developed exhibited increased strength, with improved tribological and
anti-corrosive properties. This project was carried out as part of institute collaboration between
KLE Technological university and IISc, Bangalore.

4. Energy Materials
Polymer gel electrolyte developed for lead acid batteries exhibited increased life cycle of
operation and provided light weight compact battery system. This project was carried out as part of
industry collaboration between KLE Technological university and Luminous Power Technologies,
Haryana. Super-capacitors with higher energy storage capacity were developed in -house exhibited
superior energy storage capabilities.
