Innovation Confluence 2024: Shaping the Future at KLE Technological University
KLE Technological University in Hubballi hosted the 16th Regional Institute Innovation Council (IIC) meeting on January 19, 2024, bringing together academia, industry experts, and emerging innovators. The inaugural session featured enlightening addresses from distinguished personalities, highlighting the pivotal role of innovation, creativity, and skill development in shaping the future.
Dr. Mamta Agarwal, Adviser at AICTE, set the tone for the event by calling for a paradigm shift in the mindset towards innovation and continuous learning. She emphasized the importance of agility among students and underscored the significance of skill sets in today's dynamic world. Agarwal addressed the challenges faced by educators, stressing the need for multigeneration adaptability in academic institutions.
Mr. Dipan Shhu, Assistant Innovation Director at MIC, commended KLE Technological University for fostering an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship. Shhu highlighted the driving force of creativity and curiosity in the innovation process and encouraged institutions to leverage the mentorship scheme offered by IIC.
Dr. Ashok Shettar, Vice Chancellor of KLE Technological University, emphasized the crucial role played by the youth in steering the path of startups and innovations, contributing significantly to the nation's economy. He highlighted the responsibility of academic institutions in nurturing an entrepreneurial culture among students and called for collaboration among regional institutions for mutual growth. Dr. B.S. Anami, Registrar of KLE Technological University, and an overview of the aims and activities of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Ctie) by Shivayogi Turmari. A booklet showcasing the activities of Ctie was released during the event. Abhishek Ranjan, Innovation Officer from the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell, and Prof. B.L. Desai, Dean (Executive), graced the occasion. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Uma Mudengudi, Dean (Research and Development) at KLE Technological University.
Delegates from various academic institutions, student entrepreneurs, and startups actively participated in round table discussions, networking sessions, idea pitching, and orientations for early-stage startups and innovators. The 16th Regional Institute Innovation Council meeting at KLE Technological University served as a significant platform for fostering collaboration, sharing insights, and facilitating connections.
More than 500 participants from various parts of Karnataka attended, and over 50 exhibitors showcased their products during the exhibition. Additionally, KLE Technological University organized 500+ course projects from first-year students in the Dr. Prabhakar Kore Sports Arena. Furthermore, around 30 startups pitched their products in front of angel investors during the round table networking meet, adding a dynamic entrepreneurial dimension to the event.
