Additionally, faculty and students are currently doing research in autonomous mobile robots and parallel kinematics. The outcomes of the research activities are published in international journals and presented in international conferences.
The students with the guidance of faculty members have designed and developed humanoid robot, called AJIT 1.0. Ajit is built as an open platform and will be employed to carry out research in the area of artificial intelligence, image processing and so on. The current version AJIT 1.0 is a wheel-based locomotion and the upcoming version AJIT 2.0 will be legged motion.
The department of Automation & Robotics encourages the students to get firsthand experience in innovation and research via Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. The research will be carried out during the summer holidays after VI semester and VII semester. This program is valuable for students who would like to pursue research as their career as well as master program. The main outcome of this REU program is publication of their research work in international journals and conferences.
