Application of GIS in Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering, KLE Technological University, Dr. M. S. Sheshgiri Campus, Belagavi in association with Centre for Studies on Natural Disaster Management and Skill Development (CSNDMS), Belagavi organized a Technical Talk on “Application of GIS in Civil Engineering” on 25th of Sep 2024.The resource persons were Dr. Abhilash R, NIH (HRRC) Belagavi and Prof. Shashan Bangi, GIT Belagavi. The speakers delivered GIS technology for real-world applications, including optimizing transportation networks, improving site selection, and monitoring construction progress, also integrating GIS into civil engineering practices for enhancing decision-making, improving efficiency, and fostering sustainable development. Dr. M Manjunath CED, HOD, Welcomed the speakers, Dr. Purandara Bekal, President CSNDMS Belagavi gave the presidential remarks and Dr. Chidanad Patil and Prof. Veena D Savanth Co-ordinated the event.
