Department of Mechanical Engineering

dept-civil-about-overview

Overview

The department operates within the framework of KLE Technological University, following an outcome-based education mode.

The syllabus incorporates interdisciplinary courses coupled with integrated labs and projects. The updated curriculum also acknowledges the influence of information technology on the field and anticipates industry 4.0 as a burgeoning area for future development. This is reflected in the addition of courses such as Machine learning, Robotics, and Data Analytics.

A "Learning Factory" equipped with CNC machines, 3D printers, and other prototyping tools has been established to enhance engineering skills. The department holds membership in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), a prominent hub for advancements in mobility technology. Department SAE clubs orchestrate nationwide automotive and aero-design competitions, offering platforms for our students to actively engage and participate. Through the Ready Engineer program, students have the opportunity to engage in industry-sponsored projects. Additionally, financial assistance is provided to support students attending conferences, seminars, and participating in various competitions
